Reviews of Cook's Flat

"Lovely self contained flat within beautiful grounds. Really homely. Loved our short stay. Unfortunately the bed took more than a little getting use to - if one moved the other knew about it. The tv was a smart tv which allowed for a wide range of tv but unfortunately the internet repeatedly lagged making viewing frustrating but other than that it was a prefect flat in perfect location. Comfortable and private. Highly recommend."

"We stayed in the Cook's flat for four nights during half term week. My husband and I were delighted with our visit from start to finish. The flat itself is well decorated and has all the amenities that you could need for a short break. I loved the open fire which we used every night even though the weather didn't really call for it! There are some lovely national trust properties nearby. We also managed a trip to Snowdonia (and climbed Snowdon). It was about an hour and a half drive but was well worth the trip. Cheshire Oaks shopping is nearby, as is the great city of Chester. A great place to base yourself. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!"

"We stayed here over a May bank holiday weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The flat is located in a wing of this country home on the Cefn Park estate near to Wrexham. The facilities in the flat are great and, whilst we didn't use the log fire (it was reasonably warm for a UK bank holiday!) we could imagine that it would be really cosy for a winter break. The grounds are fantastic and well kept with some really nice walks around the site and plenty to look at. There were some horses, chickens and baby lambs in the fields and plenty of places to throw down a picnic basket and cool box with a few cold beers. We also made use of the games room with its full size snooker table (although this could do with some TLC as the baize has some tears in it). The room also contains a couple of hundred old vinyl records and vintage country homes magazines which sent us both on a nostalgia trip! Whilst there's very little of interest in the immediate vicinity (unless you want to go shopping in Wrexham) there's plenty of places to visit within reasonable driving distance. We went to the impressive Chirk Castle which is magnificent and, a little further afield Portmeirion on the North Wales coast which was simply fantastic- well worth the drive! There's also the Snowdonia national park and Chester within an easy commute. Definitely recommend.... "
