Reviews of Sied Yr Ardd
"Spent a delightful week at this cottage. It was the perfect base for all we wanted to do in South Wales. The owner had a fire going for us the day we arrived to make us feel welcome, and left some treats in the kitchen for us. It's the little things like that that made the holiday more special. Would most definitely return of holidaying in the same area again."

"We spent 2 lovely weeks at Sied Yr Ardd in the lovely town of Ystradgynlais. It is very dog friendly and we found loads of lovely walks nearby. The owners Pat and Mike are a lovely couple and nothing is too much for them to do, we loved them. The local "hostelliers" were even more appealing. We found a lovely Cafe in town called The Loaf which made us very welcome, so much so we went back and back. We will be going back again next year to sample the delights of the local area. In our mind this is the far best rental through Sykes for 2 people we have had. Many thanks again for a lovely break."

"We have two dogs and this cabin was ideally suited to our needs for a break in the Brecon Beacons hill walking and visiting local attractions. Best of all there are such great walks right next to the property for the dogs including a river. The property itself is extremely well equipped including a much needed electrical fan for the summer. The owners are very welcoming but stay out of the way unless needed. I would recommend this for a short break."

"The 'garden room' was a fantastic place to sit, unwind and reflect on the day's activities; whatever the weather, sitting in the garden room was relaxing and comfortable - a great addition to the cottage. Hosts were very friendly and helpful and on-hand if/when needed. Cottage was very clean and comfortable with a small garden area for the dog to stretch his legs. Location was perfect for exploring the Brecon Beacons, Carmarthenshire and South Wales in general. Highly recommended - we had a brilliant week here in May 2018."

"Such a shame only 3 people have written a review of this beautiful holiday home so simply had to contribute our own. We had such a lovely time staying here. Fantastic facilities, comfy bed, awesome sort and so much to do nearby. Loved the fire being lit for our arrival and Pat & Mike were so friendly. Loved the hamper left out for us - a welcome of bread, eggs, butter, milk, strawberry jam and welshcakes what's not to love? Just the ticket when arriving on a Sunday afternoon! We followed Mike's advise for local dog walks and places to go and all recommendations were spot on. Particular highlights were the nearby caves and also our walk/climb up Pen-Y-Fan - amazing views! Also worth mentioning how accommodating the home is for dogs. Fresh water and doggy treats left out for our arrival plus 2 beds to choose from in the garden Room - our little pooch was spoilt for choice! We'll definitely be returning here one day. Thanks Pat & Mike"

"The quality of the cottage and the privacy it provided without complete seclusion allowed us to enjoy a fantastic restful break which we all four needed. The easy access to the town and the warmth and friendliness of the locals were the icing on the cake. The variety of locations to investigate and the snooze ability of the garden room were appreciated by all. Really fantastic in all, would score it 15 out of 10."

"We have just returned from a fantastic week in Ystradgynlais. The property was amazing, catered for every need, nice personal touches including tea/coffee facilities and a really nice welcome basket. It was nice and private with option to eat outdoors in the sun or in secluded covered area. I left an electric toothbrush charger which they found and have sent it back to me by first class post at no cost. Well done Michael and Pat, thanks for a lovely week. Paul & Kath"

"My husband and i have just returned from a lovely week spent at this chalet. The decor is lovely and modern with everything you could want for a self catering holiday. Mike and Pat, the owners are very welcoming and provided a hamper on arrival. The garden room is a great add on and we sat out there every evening with our glass of wine keeping our dog company as he didn't want to move from the bed provided for him. It also meant that when we bought him back muddy or wet from our walks we didn't have to fret where we were going to put him. The property is ideally situated for reaching all areas of the Brecon Beacons and we did just that, going up to the Usk Resovoir across to Brecon and down to the Gower. All in all a lovely week spent in a lovely little property in a beautiful part of the country. We will definitely use again."
