Reviews of Herons Reach
"Just back from a 7 day stay in this fabulous cottage ~ more spacious than the picture images show. On arrival the cottage was spotless and the 'welcome pack' of wine & welsh cakes was a very nice touch. The location of the cottage is set in a housing area, but once in the cottage itself, overlooking the estuary and open fields, you could be anywhere. The kitchen is large & very well equipped with virtually everything you would need. The bedrooms are all spacious and tastefully decorated with lots of storage room and very comfortable beds. The garden is on 2/3 levels, perfectly safe for our 2 children & our 2 dogs. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone considering a stay in Pembrokeshire."

"We booked this place for a week's stay in hopes that it would be better than the last cottage we stayed in last summer (the fridge broke upon arrival, the area was extremely isolated next to a dangerous busy road and there were flies everywhere due to windows being left open in the heat, which led us to leave a day early). We are on the final day of our stay and we have loved every minute. The property is situated in Pembroke Dock, not far from places like Tenby and Haverfordwest. There is a lovely view of the water from the back, although it is slightly obscured because of a housing development blocking parts of it. The house is brilliantly furnished with comfortable beds, sofas and chairs and includes WiFi and Sky television. The are two bathrooms; one downstairs and one upstairs. The one downstairs contains a power shower and a jacuzzi bath (which we loved using). There are plenty of taped notices on walls and doors stating where to find things and how to use appliances such as the oven and BBQ grill (although the grill wasn't working when we stayed here so we didn't use it). The back garden was spacious and just perfect for the dog to wander. The only thing we had a problem with was the noisy neighbors at the bottom of the garden, but that is no fault of the property and there was nothing we can do. The doors were pretty difficult to open at times. Overall, we've had a lovely time and are sad to be leaving tomorrow. It's been a great holiday!"

"Firstly The property is amazing, a lovely warm welcome from the caretaker who lived over the road from Heron's Reach and who was always available thoughout our stay. All the other comments on this property are true and I can't fault them at all and it was due to these comments that I booked this property. The luxury bathroom, the luxury Kitchen the full Sky HD package on the TV. Internet access, everything has been thought of and supplied and it was so nice to open the back door and allow our dog to have the run of the garden knowing it was secure.. This place really does have the 'Wow' factor that stays with you for the entire length of your stay. The surroundings however are a little to be desired and may of changed quite a bit since the first review on here. Firstly the view from the garden is now only 50% of what it was a few years ago due to a new housing devolpment blocking what must of been amazing scenery. Secondly the nearest pub, in fact the 2 nearest pubs have now closed down, as well as the nearest Supermarket and the nearest Fish & Chip Shop. (The nearest shop and pub are now a 15 minute uphill walk away) If you are looking for a property in Pembroke Dock area then this place is a must. the property gets a 10 out of 10 from me.. The area scrapes in at 4 out of 10"

"The house was lovely. Fantastic facilities. Best place to visit is the Folly Farm. Both adults and children enjoyed the day. Pembroke castle is also lovely. The only problem we had was with the caretaker. When she arrived she took one look at our small dog and said that dogs were not allowed in the bedrooms or if they had to be in the bedroom they were not allowed on the beds. She then bent down to speak to the dog who promptly ran away. She said "oh I see the dog is as obedient as the children". Now this woman did not know us and in the space of 5 minutes had insulted my dog and my children. And things didn't get much better. We discovered their were no towels and when we contacted her about it she said that they had towells but they were only for the use of overseas visitors. The last time I checked Northern Ireland and Wales were separated by the Irish Sea. When we pointed this out she gave us towells but asked us to wash them!! The final incident was on the last day. Checkout is 10 (earlier than any other property we have visited (this being our eighth year of hiring houses for holidays)) and we were just finishing up when she arrived with another lady at 10.03. They immediately went upstairs and started to strip beds. We were trying to lift the last of our stuff and I asked if she could give us 20 mins then we would be totally finished and out of their way completely. She stiffly replied "well it clearly states checkout is at 10". I said I am well aware of that but when you have two small children who didn't want to get out if bed this morning we are trying our best. She said that she would be back at 10.30. We got cleared up and were leaving the property at 10.27 and to be honest we didn't even say goodbye. She only lived 2 doors down so it was not as if she had to travel far. I just want the owners of the property know as I am sure the comment book we left has not had out comment page removed."
