"Beautifully presented cottage and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Nice to have outside space with tables in 2 locations so you can enjoy the sun. Lovely watching the many birds who visited the feeders we were constantly refilling, good job the food was provided! Good internet connection and although no mobile signal there is a landline for you to use. Lots of places to visit in the area. Some good walks from the cottage so no need to take the car if you want a day off from driving, OS map available in the cottage. Very relaxing stay."

"The owners really make an effort to ensure you have everything you need in this home from home. I received a courtesy call the day before I arrived & the owner's husband rings on the evening of your arrival. They're super-friendly, helpful & have thought of everything. The cottage is lovely, kitted out with a freestanding roll top bath upstairs & a walk in shower downstairs (none of this shower head over bath business). One shower head is standard size, the other is a huge, waterfall type "stand under and wash all your cares away" cascade of loveliness. The bed in the main bedroom is one you won't want to jump out of. It's so comfy & warm. The kitchen has all mod cons - dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, induction hob and, like the bathrooms, are kitted out to a very high standard. Arrived to a bottle of white wine and chocolates, tea, coffee, fresh milk, with doggy treats, poo bags & dog towels for the mutts. Really thoughtful. First impressions was that the house was dark, but wait a little while & the sun shines into the front of the cottage, warming your back & making you sigh, just a little, as a "This is bliss" feeling spreads throughout your body, satisfying your soul. The neighbours are helpful - I called upon them for assistance with a trailer, they got the chap up the road involved & I was reassured by their offer of further help if I needed anything else. Lots of tv channels to keep the kids occupied. There's no mobile phone reception, so the owners have kindly left a landline connected for local calls. You get automated messages from Welsh Water if there's disruption or discolouration to the water supply. It's a beautiful property, spotlessly clean, thanks to housekeeper, Sandra. The stream that flows by the rear of the cottage offers a meditative/tranquil ambience; when you're in the kitchen open the stable door, let the dogs out & the fresh air in! Parking is directly in front of the cottage. It's a quiet road, just leave space for the tractor that goes up & down the hill. Lots of great places to visit, including Poppitt Sands, dolphin spotting boat rides & The Nag's Head pub for amazing restaurant standard food. We'll certainly be returning."

"Star Mill cottage provided the perfect base for our half term break in Wales. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and may have the best equipt kitchen of any rental we have ever stayed in. The woodburner was a big hit with husband, son and dog!! The beds were really comfortable, if only the children had let us stay in it longer. All in all a wonderful holiday"

The owners seem to have thought of everything to provide for us to make our stay as easy as possible. The cottage is a good base to explore the beautiful area of Pembrokeshire. We had never visited that part of Wales before and found some lovely walks and places of interest "The Golden Road " an ancient trading route is a must and only 6 miles up the road, has the most amazing views. You can't go wrong staying here and we highly recommend it. Thank you so much Lucy and Bob we will be back xx"

Set in the quiet town of Star - this cottage provides excellent location for a quiet peaceful break, beautiful log burner to relax and read a book, full wifi facilities with plenty of books, dvds and games to choose from their extensive library plus Smart TV for all your NETFLIX needs, a wonderful welcome to the cottage with chocolates and a bottle of wine, a truly lovely gesture. Cant recommend this cottage enough, the owners very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was for 4 evenings, so we managed to visit Cardigan, Cilgerran Castle, Carmarthern and also the local town nearby for coffee and a cake, so plenty to do if you want to get out and about."

"The cottage itself is ok.....we found it to be very dusty and a little unclean on arrival. Miles from any main roads so don't expect a quick journey to anywhere! Well equipped but has to clean quite a lot of plates and pans etc before we used any of them. We know it's a cottage in the country bit there were cobwebs and dead spiders everywhere which hasn't been there just a few days or weeks if you know what I mean. The owners are lovely and very helpful ...i just think they need to get on top of their cleaner. Couch in tv lounge area is awful.....so uncomfortable that it was hard work to relax of an evening. Last thing to mention is that all the duvets and most of the pillows are feather which set off my sons allergy (unless it was the dust)...so we had to come home 3 days early. If you are looking for a retreat in the middle of nowhere and not looking for a luxury cottage then this is fine."

"WHAT AN AMAZING COTTAGE. We have had just the best time here this past week and can honestly say we are truly sad to be leaving, our children especially. They have settled in so well and have slept beautifully every night which is unusual for them in unfamiliar surroundings. Every need was catered for, and much much more. On arrival we were greeted by the wonderful smell of the log fire. The whole place was beautifully clean and the owners even left a bottle of wine and choccys for our arrival which was such a lovely personal touch. Bob the owner phoned us a couple of hours after we landed to make sure all was to our satisfaction, which it truly was!! The beds are honestly the comfiest beds IN THE WORLD!! Never slept so well. There is plenty to see if you travel by car, highly recommend Poppit Sands and Cardigan Bay, lots of shops and places to eat. Manor Hall Farm was a great day out especially for children. We had a problem with our exhaust and the local garage (Garej Wyn) fitted us in that very day which was fantastic so must recommend them for anyone else in a similar position. My brother who stayed with us also had a more serious problem with his car and they fixed his at the drop of a hat also. Brilliant guys down there! Star is a picturesque place to stay and the locals seem dead friendly. There's very little traffic going by and the sound of the stream flowing by is so soothing (I think the noise helped my children sleep to be honest.) There are lots of birds feeding in the garden which is also very relaxing to watch, the kids enjoyed topping up the bird feeders in "The Jungle" as they called the garden. I could go on and on about this cottage but I won't bore everybody, in a nutshell we highly recommend this beautiful building to anyone looking for a long/short family/couples holiday/break away. Its gorgeous. In and out! We wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to friends and family. We will take some lovely memories home with us."

"The cottage was exactly as described and I was so pleased with my stay. Set in a peaceful village with fantastic countryside around you, perfect for dog walkers, those who enjoy the outdoors or anyone who wants to just 'get away' and relax. There are quaint villages and busier towns all close by it is the perfect 'base' to go off on day trips, explore all the local beaches and there is a lot of stunning coastline to chose from! There is a local shop up the road for supplies! and further along another well stocked local shop for any extras however I found the cottage was thoughtfully planned out and lots of things are provided for you. Cannot find one negative to comment on for condition of property, everything worked as it should, enjoyed the wood burner in the evenings, wifi connection was brilliant during my stay, and although I didn't find time to play on them the games consoles with a nice selection of games offered something to do for the kids or in our case 'big kids' that may holiday there, a nice selection of films, board games and interesting books also available to use. Tidy and very Clean condition throughout the property. All communication with owners was polite, friendly and helpful and they leave a very handy welcome pack to answer most common questions. The parking was good we took a car and a jeep and we had no concerns with parking outside the house on a lovely quiet road without worrying. We also had our dog with us, who is a large breed and she settled into the cottage well, the garden was very convenient as well as being pretty and there is a handy gate separating another outside area with a beautiful stream so we could relax knowing the dog is safe/secure outside while we relaxed on the lovely big sofas! I was very impressed by the end of my holiday and extremely happy with the cost and ease of renting such a perfect little retreat for a week. Would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a break. Thank you very much and look forward to staying again in the near future. :)"

"This cottage was exactly what we wanted. Perfectly located in central Pembrokeshire, we were able to enjoy day trips out to the picturesque coastal towns, then feel right at home in the evenings, soak in the deep bath, cook up a meal in the spotless kitchen and then settle down by the fire. The whole break was so relaxing, and the cottage had an immediate impact and welcoming feel. We didn't want to leave the super-comfy beds each morning! Couldn't fault the cleanliness, and there was everything we needed in place upon arrival. When can we go back?!"

Kitchen has everything you could think of and the bed was really comfy. In the evening we relaxed and enjoyed watching some of the dvd's that are provided and if you have time there are also many games and books. We loved watching the different types of birds in the garden feeding at the food station and there is even an ample store of seed etc for you to replenish the feeders! "The cottage itself is charming but absolutely filthy. Plates with food on in the cupboards. Utensils and kitchen were thick with grease and grime. We had to spend half a day cleaning and put some things in the out building because we couldn't stand to have them in the cottage with us. There wasn't a surface that I felt confident to touch without disinfecting first. So disappointing considering we came here to relax. The cottage is stunning, but so dirty, I would not recommend. What a shame."

"I know you can't do much about the location of a cottage in respect of sunshine etc but the location of this cottage in relation to it's surroundings is not shown in the photos. The cottage was very dark inside and you couldn't have the curtains fully open because the people in the holiday cottage opposite could see right in. The second and third bedroom and upstairs bathroom are accessed through the main bedroom and you are expected to place a screen at the end of your bed to get some privacy. Not good. The upstairs bathroom ceiling slopes so low that you bang your head every time to use the toilet. The cleaning is also not very thorough. There were cobwebs everywhere. The whole cottage needs a really good clean, the fridge , cooker , bathroom and door handles on the kitchen cupboard doors, the windows. The only good thing about the cottage was the comfy bed and level of equipment. The garden/courtyard had loads of weeds, around the approach to the front of the cottages all weedy and neglected. It became just somewhere to sleep rather than a home from home experience. We loved South Wales though , the area is beautiful and there is lots to see and do."
