Reviews of Millbrook Barn

"We had a lovely 4 days at Millbrook Barn earlier this year. It's off the beaten track and not easy to find, so double check your directions, but it's more than worth the effort to get there. It's not far from Abergavenny, which is a lovely town, and that means it's not far from attractions like castles, national parks or Cardiff if you want to visit the city. The cottage itself is spacious, well appointed with comfortable furniture. Also, one main bedroom is separate from the others, so you can have kids or guests at the other end of the house for some privacy. It's a great base location for seeing this region of south Wales."

"We stayed at Millbrook barn with our daughter and son in law and our grandchildren. It was ideal for a multi generation holiday. Spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was great having the playroom with toys to keep the grandchildren amused and there was plenty of room outside for playing ball games safely. The little ones loved having Jimmy the lamb come to play. The barn is situated in a peaceful location but within easy drive of Abergavenny. We enjoyed trips to Greenmeadow Farm, Raglan Castle, Monmouth and The Kymin."

"Millbrook Farm is fantastic accomodation located down a country lane around the Llanddewi Rhyddech Region of Wales and is especially great for families. It has a fantastic setting on a rural property that is only 12 minutes from Abergavenny by car. The accomodation is fantastically clean, and very well appointed with great outdoor and indoor areas for kids and adults alike. I would highly recommend this facility for your next trip. "

"This property was a lovely place to stay for a week near the Brecon Beacons. Plenty of space, yet homely with lots of rooms and well thought out touches e.g. piano, pool table, board games, other toys and plenty of books that kept the kids and adults entertained plus a well equipped kitchen. It is a barn so you will need to be mindful of the sloped ceilings and low beams in each room upstairs but this adds to its character. In addition to the lovely accommodation, there is a dedicated, flat, mini football pitch with balls and badminton racquets ready to use, beautiful views with sheep in the nearby fields, a friendly shire horse and sheepdog plus very helpful and lovely owners! Great rural location - you will need wellies, unless you are lucky enough to have no rain, as the barn is in a working farm at the bottom of a long farm track but not too far from plenty of places to visit. We enjoyed a muddy walk round the local area, a day at Cardiff Bay (Techniquest is great for kids of all ages), the Big Pit, LC waterpark in Swansea, boat hire along the canal at Brecon, a walk from the canal at Talybont-on-Usk to the reservoir and then round the nearby waterfalls. Many thanks to the owners (plus their grandson and his girlfriend) for taking the time and effort to make it such an enjoyable time for us all. Book it now!"

You would definitely need a car to stay here but, if you don't mind paying for taxis then it would really be up to you. When we arrived at the barn we had fresh eggs and fruit bread awaiting us. The barn had such a lovely feel to it, I would recommend it 100% if you're looking for a countryside p/rural kind of holiday away from it all."

"In the narrow country lanes, not 10 minutes drive from Abergavenny, lies a hidden treasure. Millbrook Barn has been beautifully renovated and modernised with a large living room and kitchen (equipped with everything one would need) and 4 well proportioned bedrooms. We had 7 people stay, including one 8 year old and a 4 year old. There was space a plenty for all and the grounds were perfect for the children to run around safely and yet still experience the adventure of exploring a working farm. What made this so special though were the owners Brenda and Peter, a lovely couple who went out of their way to make sure my family and I were made to feel very welcome. Little touches such as the fresh eggs and the homemade cake made you feel at home and their warmness towards my son Jack and his cousin letting them feed the ducks and see the sheep being sheared was amazing. I would highly recommend Millbrook Barn to any family wanting quality time together. I know my family and I will be back as soon as we can."

The barn was spotlessly clean and very welcoming with plenty of space including a lovely lounge area, ample kitchen and games room. If you want rural, this is it... complete quite with beautiful surroundings - and a 10 minute drive will take you to some amazing walking locations. There were lovely welcoming touches. A lovely cake on arrival, fresh eggs and one of the owners popping along to check we were okay. But that was pretty much the single time we saw anyone, so privacy and quietness are ensured. I can't say anything negative. The only warning I'd say is that two of the bedrooms are en-suite, and the other two have a bath but not a shower available to them. But we just shared our showers so there really was no issue. All in all, highly recommended - and after this hotels are just going to seem very mundane."
