"My father and I booked a weeks holiday at Penrallt Cottage and we fell in love with the cottage as soon as we arrived. The weather was fine and the views across the Menai Strait were fantastic. The cottage had everything that we needed for a relaxing week's holiday. We met Osian the owner who was very polite and friendly and gave us useful advice on nearby attractions, eateries etc. Penrallt is situated ideally for a base to explore and enjoy North Wales and Anglesey. The weather did turn colder/wetter towards the end of the week, then it was the end of September/beginning of October and it never stopped us getting out and about. Only disappointment was getting on the steam train for the top of Snowdon in sunny weather, but by the time we reached the summit it was a complete white-out! We will just have to come back again! All in all a brilliant week in a lovely cottage in a beautiful country!"

"It is a wonderful view from a wonderful cottage. This has been the highlight of our stay so far in the UK. We love the look of the old exterior, but the interior is modern clean and very comfortable. The location up on a hill is great, and makes it feel as though we are miles from town, yet the drive to shopping and dining is short. The location is also convenient to Caernarfon and Conwy, and we even made a quick run to Holyhead. I would suggest that those travelling to the UK spend less time in London and more time here in North Wales, we wish we had! "

"The cottage was well-equipped, nicely-furnished and very comfortable. The lovely views over the Menai Straits were gorgeous and we had excellent weather to appreciate them fully. We enjoyed our holiday very much. Only 3 less-positive comments: The '5 mins downhill walk' was over-optimistic re. timing and it is pretty steep. (We are fit and regularly walk in the countryside but after doing the walk on the first evening we didn't repeat it.) Access by car involves negotiating a very sharp left turn. We coped but wouldn't recommend it for a nervous driver. The 'written directions' mention a 'sharp left turn' but I would add the word 'very' to emphasise that. We were disappointed at the 'selection of pubs,restaurants...' as there was only one pub within a short walking distance of the cottage and the meal we had there was very poor. Your description of Y Felinheli suggested a more thriving community with a good selection of eating places. We would have liked to have eaten out in the village more often."
