"Just want to thank Sioned for the amazing attention to detail we had! No problem was too big! They went above & beyond. The cottage was in an immaculate condition, we had such amazing views! Travel cots were provided for our 5 month old son! My daughter fell in love with Bella & wanted to bring her home with us! Hopefully one day we will come visit again!"

The garden is really pretty set on 2 levels but plenty of room for children to explore. Hot tub and games room were also a hit. "9 of us stopped here for a long weekend in March, we all thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, winding down in the hot tub in the evening. The owners Mr & Mrs Evans are on site and can't do enough for you, a real pleasure to meet them both. If you're after a peaceful break with beautiful scenery in a character cottage, this is the one. My only regret is not having stopped longer to explore the surroundings more."

"We spent five days at Ysgubor with family and three dogs and we all enjoyed every minute of our stay. We all loved the house with its 400 year history, oak beams and wood burning stoves making it cosy and relaxing, a real country cottage feel. The rooms are big and we loved the big kitchen with its family sized table and comfortable lounge. The hot tub and pool table were a definite bonus. Mr and Mrs Evans were lovely and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back."

"We liked everything! The house rambled along and up so that there were quiet corners for folk to "hide" in. The kitchen with its big table provided the perfect focal point for family socialising and communal eating. The paved area to the front was great for scooter opportunities for the 5 yr old, the surrounding wall for drying boots (had we needed to!), the back garden (gravelled) was not much used except for the hot tub which was used by all of us, everyday.. particularly after our day climbing Snowden. The owners were delightful hosts!"

The mountains behind us provided some excellent walks that were peaceful and quiet . It was marvellous to bring our family together in such a wonderfully spacious farmhouse in just the right setting.""

"A group of 10 of us stayed in Ysgubor for 3 nights and it was just a wonderful experience. Great friends, great house and super surroundings. For a short stay in February the weather was very much on our side and the owners were extremely helpful and accommodating, showing us the best routes for our walks and just being general lovelies. As a group we walked to the Red Lion pub which served fantastic home cooked delights and a well deserved pint of something refreshing. We also took a hike up to the top of the idyllic mountain side surrounding the cottage which have the the most breathtaking views. Of course this wouldn't be a review without the mention of the hot tub, just great! This house itself is oldy worldy with beams, an insane master bedroom/bathroom combo and incredible dining area which really went down a treat with the wood burning fires. All in all this was a super stay for us and we would be more then happy to go back again. In fact we are all in talks of a summer stay so lets get booking."

"Well this was our second holiday to the area and Ysgubor was a fantastic place to explore the area from and then relax and enjoy the evenings in. I can't go any further without mentioning the owners who couldn't do enough for you and were always so friendly, welcoming and enjoyable to deal with. The cottage is set at the foot of a mountain owned by the owners and as mentioned in other reviews the owner will take you up in his pick up so you can enjoy the incredible scenery and walk down. The hot tub is perfect after a long day mountain biking, walking or exploring! The house is in good condition and it may sound minor but the pump that aids the water pressure around the house does a sterling job and all the showers are nice and powerful, especially the jet shower! Huge kitchen, big lounge and a games room means there's always plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely recommend and return."

"I can honestly stay I have never been sad to end a holiday like I was leaving here. We went as a group of 10 for a surprise Hen weekend. The bride to be was blown away as I think we all where. The owners couldn't of made us feel more welcome without being intrusive. The cottage was just perfect and we are already planning our one year on visit. The farmer took us up the mountain in his truck and we walked back down (except for one of the group who was driven down) the views were completely amazing and the walk was on a road so wasn't too strenuous. The hot tub was very well used and thoroughly enjoyable, the kitchen was definitely the heart of our stay. As it was lambing season the farmer let us all have a little cuddle with a new born lamb. The lack of phone signal and internet was a pleasant change and I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of being there. I can not recommend this place highly enough."

The owners were friendly and helpful and even let us help feed the lambs. The owners dogs were really friendly and gentle and were always up for a cuddle if you called them, even the members of my family who are nervous of dogs loved them. The area is perfect for walking, cycling, real ales and pub grub. "This cottage is set in a beautiful location and is within walking distance of Dinas Mawddwy, where there is a great little, dog friendly pub that serves lovely food (open fire too). It is surrounded by mountains and there are walks straight from the cottage. The cottage is set within a farm where there are other dogs and livestock but the cottage itself is enclosed and if you take your own dogs they are unable to get out of the garden unless they are determined. The farmers dogs have worked out how to get in but they tend to sit close by and just look in, which may drive some dogs crazy. The farmer, who lives in an attached cottage is extremely friendly and really helpful. We also got a lift up the mountain (at the back of the cottage) and walked down..it is a truy amazing sight but remember this is where slate originates and our dog cut her food quite badly (great, cheap local vet) so bare this in mind whilst wandering back. The cottage itself is incredibly spacious: you enter the front door to the games room and then it divides left and right. The kitchen is to the right with a lovely large bedroom above this and the remaining bedrooms and the stunning living room is to the left. The kitchen is a true farm house kitchen, with an aga, log burner, massive wooden dining table and slate flooring (the farmer replensihes the wood whenever needed at a very reasonable price). The living room has lots of seating and there are lots of games and brochures about the locality. The hot tub was a mega hit and requires no real effort to operate on your behalf. The garden is quite small and is mainly patio but the grassed bits are elevated and provide stunning views. There is a little table and chairs set up high too , which proved to be popular for a late afternoon glass of wine. (if you want bigger wine glasses or cups then id advise you take your own as the ones at the cottage are quite small) The fridge is a normal freezer fridge, which isn't that big if there's loads of you so an ice cooler or similar may be useful for drinks etc. We left our wine outside the back door but obviously in summer that would be useless! You also have to be careful how long you shower for. I believe there was a five minute rule - something to do with the pressure and the number of people using it. There are walks near and far and it's worth exploring this before arriving as the internet/mobile signal is pretty poor. Dolgellau is a short drive away and it has everything that you need, such as a large co-op, an amazing cake shop (the best cheesecake we've ever had!), chemist etc and one of our favourite walks around Cader Idris. There is another great walk (the torrent walk) which is between the cottage and Dollgelau. You will not get bored!"
