"Had an amazing stay here, the cottage is extremely cozy and homely. Locals are super friendly and the scenery is breathtaking. But what really made our visit were the owners of the property, Chris and Paddy, they were so welcoming and bubbly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home! Thanks a million for having us, we really can't wait to come back!! "

"A brilliant getaway on the North Wales coast. Bryn Hyfryd Bach is on a picturesque, secluded hillside giving you privacy and quiet but there is a shop and garage a short drive away so you don't feel cut off. The butcher at the local SPAR shop is fantastic and you can get most things from there. Visitors should note that there is parking for one car at the cottage and elder/disabled visitors may struggle with the walk back up the hill from the easiest place to leave a second car. The cottage is well appointed and the living room surprisingly roomy (bigger than it looks in the pictures). Wifi is included in the price. The kitchen has a cooker, microwave, toaster and a lot of pots, utensils and crockery for two people. I can be a little tight with two people in there but we managed one cooking while one washed up fairly easily and without arguments! The bedroom has a gorgeous stone feature wall, a very comfortable bed and plenty storage space. Hot water bottles were provided and used on one night, as it can get a little cold up there. The living room has a wood burner to keep warm and with a little 'door management', you can easily warm the whole cottage from it. We didn't need to use the electric heater provided once and it was very cold and windy while we were there. The toilet/shower room has a very modern shower fitted which was always hot and the room has plenty of space to move around in. The owners live in an attached property and were very helpful. I think every review on here mentions Chris and Paddy and they did not disappoint. A truly lovely couple. Use of the hot tub is by appointment as it is at the bottom of their garden and they really go out of the way to make it comfortable for you. They have a little 'games barn' with a wood burner to keep warm while you change and in winter months there is a gazebo over the tub to keep the Welsh weather out. All in all, this was a great break from the rat race and I would happily book again."

"My wife and I recently booked and payed for a seven night stay at this cottage but disliked the place so much that we left after only five nights. The accommodation consists of a tiny one room wide, two story high cottage which is attached to the owners property and has a connecting door between the cottage and the owners property though which one can clearly hear the owners talking !! The single ground floor room is small and fairly cluttered and is connected to a small bedroom by a set of narrow stairs. At the rear of the cottage are a small kitchen and small shower room with a shower which has no shelf of any sort for placing ones soap or shampoo on. During our stay at this cottage the oven did not work meaning that my wife had to go backwards and forwards to the owners house to use their oven, the cook top was so old that all the markings for the cooking plates had disappeared and we spent ages trying to work out which heating plates were working and at what temperature; the television kept turning its self off; we kept running out of hot water and frequently had to boil a jug to wash up; we experienced quite a lot of noise from the owners property through the connecting door and had to turn the TV up, when it worked, to drowned out the owners conversations. Secondary heating in the cottage is provided by a tiny enclosed wood fire and a bag of tiny pieces of wood can be obtained from the owners. However we tried this tiny fire on one occasion and found that it burnt the tiny pieces of wood very quickly and gave out almost no heat so gave that idea away. Just a pity that the owners do not supply an electric fan heater as that would heat such a small cottage really quickly. We found the cottage bad enough but the access to the place was even worse. In this instance the cottage is accessed by a steep and very narrow, stone wall lined two way but one lane country lane with few passing places. This lane is bad enough but when one arrives at the cottage one is advised by he owners that there is not enough room to turn the car around to drive back down the lane !! To turn around you have to drive much further up this narrow lane, hoping that no one is coming the other way, to look for a farm gate in which one can turn and then drive back to the cottage !! We were also advise by the owners that other guests had damaged their cars when trying to turn their cars around at the cottage. Guess they were trying to avoid the long drive into the hills to look for that farm gate !! We found this part of Wales scenically magnificent but our stay at this cottage was awful. Thank goodness our next S/C cottage was light years ahead of this one and cheaper."
