"What a disaster- this cottage was dirty, damp and very smelly it was also very dark and the lights had to be on in the middle of the day. Very disappointed that we were not aware that the bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen and being a wet room the door had to be kept open to enable it to dry. The drains were smelly and the kitchen and bathroom dirty and the bedroom full of dust. My complaints were not heeded by the owner ( made through the agent Sykes cottages). I could not recommend this cottage at all. The area is amazing and the weather was fabulous but the cottage ruined our stay. I have asked for an apology but none received which is why I have to say how I felt. Very very disappointed"

"Points to make this property excellent for us are as follows. 1. Access to the property is not allowed until 4pm although guests are requested to leave on their day of departure by 10am. 6 hours turnaround for a cottage of this size seems excessive. 2. It is not clear that bath towels are not supplied and that is something we would have expected given the high quality and cleanliness of the bedlinen. These a small points that could be easily addressed and would make this beautiful, very clean, well equipped cottage even better."

"This beautifully decorated 16th century cottage is set in the most tranquil setting in the Cwmystrallyn countryside. The cottage adjoins the owners property but with several feet of stone wall separating you the only noise you can hear is birdsong, and if you are very lucky an owl at night. The lounge is very spacious and incorporates dining table and chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with good quality equipment and everything you need to enjoy your break there. There is no oven but there are full simple instructions booklet for the convection/microwave there and we cooked a roast dinner successfully and used it frequently, so please don't let it put you off. The hob heats up really quickly and we have had a few cooked breakfasts during our stay! The bathroom was adequate and yes it is a wet room as such, but soon dries out, with a little ventilation. We sat outside where bistro table and chairs provided, and just enjoyed the lovely weather and a well earned drink, all in a totally private and peaceful garden. The upstairs again is very spacious, providing you with a comfortable bed and all the storage needed to enjoy your stay. Yes the stairs are steep but you do have solid supports to help you up the stairs. Throughout the property there are rustic beams which enhance your stay at this beautiful quaint cottage. So basically, if you are wanting to away from it all for a while, why not give it a go? We have come back feeling very refreshed. Thanks to the owners for giving so much detailed thought to the set up of this gem."

"We arrived on sat 1st August and were very impressed with the cottage, the size of the rooms didn't disappoint with plenty of room for us and our puppy. although small, the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of good quality utensils pots pans etc however the down side was no oven there was a 2 ring hob and a convection microwave but having not used a microwave for years it was a struggle ,the shower room was of a good size ,the huge attic bedroom was accessed but a spiral staircase ,very quaint ! but with deep steps which on occasion were not easy to negotiate ,we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our trips out the only criticism was the cooker and the amount of over grown trees and bushes around the property which would benefit from being cut back ,if you are staying here we would recommend a visit to Black Rock Sands beach it was fab ,but hard to find, not very well sign posted ,but follow the signs for the golf club in town and its not far past that ,amazing for walking or just chilling"

"A cracking little place, full of rustic charm and hidden away in rural seclusion (nearest pubs, shops, etc 8-10 minute drive). This is an ideal couples venue and very well placed for exploring North Wales. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped and tastefully decorated indoors, it was truly a rustic idyll - no noise just birdsong and baa-ing to be heard! Would benefit from having a mop at hand for the wet-room after showers but that's the only "criticism" as such and very minor at that. If you want to "get away from it all" and fancy something really different, definitely try here. "
