Welcome to Glan Clwyd Isa - The Coach House. Situated in magnificent countryside, this property provides top quality accommodation for up to four people.
Accommodation
Two bedrooms: 1 x super-king-size double with French doors to small sitting area, with stone steps to garden level, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin & WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area & sitting area with woodburner.
Location
This brick-built semi-detached barn conversion is set in 30 acres of beautiful grounds on an award-winning farm at the foot of the Clwydian Hill Range. There is even access to a heated swimming pool and private fishing on the River Clwyd – a waterway that runs through the farm. With the added attraction of a lovely wood-burning stove in the sitting room and a beautiful garden area for al fresco dining, this is a great family property. The amenities of Denbigh are easily accessible, as are a number of other local activities.
Peacefully located in the lovely Vale of Clwyd, the small village of Bodfari is set beneath the imposing Clwydian Hill Range and is steeped in history. Once a Celtic camp in approximately 500BC, the village went on to become a Roman encampment and then a pre-Norman village – evidence of which remains in the original Church of St Stephen. Nowadays, in addition to its impressive church the village boasts a local shop and easy access to a number of good country pubs and eateries. The ancient market town of Denbigh with its celebrated 13th Century castle is close by and offers pretty streets lined with shops, pubs and restaurants. The Offa's Dyke Pathway is also easily accessible and provides walkers with plenty of trails and footpaths to follow. Ramblers will be thrilled by the impressive, challenging countryside that surrounds the village, whilst those who enjoy cycling, fishing, and bird watching are also well catered for.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Reviews of Glan Clwyd Isa - The Coach House
".After doing a weekly food shop I went to the Coach house and did not immediately find it as the photo shows the back of the property away from the road , I had tried to ring the owners on the day of arrival to ask where the keys would be left, but had no reply from both contact numbers on the paperwork. After entering the property I noticed the cushions on the furniture and blankets under the coffee table were not tidied or folded . I put my food in the fridge and noticed the door was broken from the integrated unit and the fridge did not seem to be vetry clean but shrugged this off. I then went upstairs to put my clothes away and saw that none of the beds had been made up and the sheets had not been changed from the previous tenants. I then went into the bathroom and all the dirty towels were thrown on the floor. Going back to the bedroom I looked in the wardrobe and saw there was some clothes still hung up. I then thought I must be in the wrong accommodation. After checking it was the correct place I tried ringing the numbers again and left a message on both of them with no reply. There was also a dirty washing up cloth in the sink and the worktops needed cleaning at that point I rang Sykes cottages (who were very helpful) to advise them of the position and they finally managed to contact the owners as time went on I could no longer wait for it to be sorted so I told Sykes to cancel the booking and refund the fee which they could not do until 9 pm as they need to give the owners time to rectify the issue, if they had answered their phones when I rang them lunchtime it would have been rectified.! I then had to try find alternative accommodation which I did but was a hotel that was a lot more expensive and the food I had bought for the week had to be disposed of as I did not have a fridge freezer to store it in so all in all this have cost me a fair few pounds a lot of time and a lot of stress. finally got into the hotel at 10pm!!"

"The Coach House is situated deep in the Welsh countryside with fantastic views, but civilisation (including a dog-friendly pub) is a just a short distance away. The two-bedroomed cottage is well equipped including wood-burner, washing machine & dishwasher, and comfortably furnished. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting the owners as they were away when we stayed, but we found Mrs Crossley to be extremely helpful in tracking down my daughter's macbook external hard-drive (which had somehow got mixed up in the bedsheets & sent to the laundry) and returning it to us by special delivery. We'll definitely be back!"

"This is by far the best place we have stayed in for a very long time. The kids loved popping in the pool, giving attention to the friendly three dogs of the owners and playing Frisbee by the lake. I loved the peace and quiet in such a beautiful place, so beautiful that we are already looking into when we can come again. The cottage has two great sized bedrooms. Plenty of hot water. Open plan downstairs which is bigger then the photos show. It is clean and the beds are really comfortable also. It was great looking out the window to Guinea fowl, horses, ducks and cows! The location is a little out the way which is what I loved more than anything. It took around 1hr 20 mins to get over to snowdonia national park, but a short drive away you will find a supermarket, lovely pub, petrol garage and pretty much all the basics you need. The owners are really friendly. We couldn't ask for more and we will see you again soon. "

"Our thanks to the owners of the Coach House for a wonderful stay. I've booked a lot of self-catering cottages over the last 20 years and this one gets my vote as best yet. Beautiful house, lovely light open plan living and kitchen area with floor to ceiling windows affording a stunning outlook over the duck pond and gardens. Beautiful surrounding countryside and well kept extensive gardens in which to walk the dog. Woodburning stove was a treat to have lit in the evening after a hard days walk on Offa's Dyke and the property is very well situated for walking the northern end of the trail."

"Perfect retreat. We were there during Hurricane Barney which was whipping through the trees at 80mph outside. Listening to the wind howling while curled up in front of the log fire was magic. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. We chose this particular cottage because it was listed as dog friendly, fortunately there were no signs of dog in the cottage at all, it was immaculate in every way!"

"We were returning for the 4th time for a week after a break of two years. Whilst we can agree that the cottage is located in the most beautiful location, I'm afraid that that is all we can agree with other reviews. From the very first moment we arrived we were disappointed. In the past we have been left a starter of tea and milk, this was no longer available and also in the rental it states that a starter pack of wood is provided, we were left 2 damp logs, no kindling and no paper, had we not taken our own we would never have been able to light the log burner. As it became darker and we turned on the lights and found that over 50% of the bulbs in the cottage didn;t work and when we asked for some they were left outside for us to put in. Sadly the cottage is looking old and tired and some of the furniture was missing,(from our first vist), and what was left was uncomfortable, after a few days I found I could no longer sit on the sofa as it just wasn't comfortable, We found a note inside the cottage asking people to turn the heating off whilst out and that the owners reserve the right to enter the property and turn the heating off. This would have been alright if we could have actually found how to turn the heating on in the first place. The fridge door in the kitchen didn't shut properly and our food spoilt. The oven didn't work effectively and some of the kitchen cupboards are not straight on the walls and slighly damaged. The bed was uncomfortable as well and I ended up having a bad back. Two of the features of the cottage are the pond outside the back door and the fact that people are allowed to bring their pets. Sadly the pond was overgrown and thick with green allgea and was in an awful state, so much so that I didnt go outside the back of the cottage once and although we didn't take our dogs I actually found fleas on myself. We were so disappointed that we left a day early and emailed the owner who didn't address many of our concerns just stating that a new kitchen was being put into the cottage in Nov and that we should have told her about the CH. All in all this cottage is no longer a 5 star cottage, not even possibly a 2 star, but I'm sure that it will improve with a little time and money spent on it.....unfortunately we shall not return again as we felt that the damage has already been done and there was little sympathy from the owner."

"Beautiful property, beautiful location. The most relaxing break we have had in a long time. We stayed for 3 nights, late December and loved it. The property is spotlessly clean and warm with the added luxury of a log burner. The large French doors overlooked a pond with open countryside beyond. Loved breakfast just taking in the views. We had family over for a get together one night and no one wanted to leave. As it says, the property is pet friendly. We had our teenage daughter and her friend with us and our dog, plenty of room for us all. The owners, Mr and Mrs Crossley are very helpful and leave you to your own devices but are always there to help if needed. We hope to return again this year."

"This is our 3rd time staying at these cottages and its been 6 years since our last visit. I'm afraid to say that time seems to have stood still and the general condition of the cottages has gone down hill since. I would not personally say that these are 5 stars, more 3+. There used to be a central libary of places to go, things to do and recommendations of local eating places, but no longer, just a handful of out of date brouchers. Given we had been before we knew where to go in terms of directions, but for most, the driveway would be passed time and time again. A sign would therefore be appropriate. I can not disagree with other reviewers in that these cottages are in a wonderful location, peaceful and quiet, which is why we returned for a 3rd visit. Definately not for the less mobile either, the internal stairs are difficult to negotiate. There is an external staircase though. A word of caution to dog owners, there are not many beaches along the coast that allow dogs on."

We were both blown away by the idyllic setting and from arrival, greeted with a very warm welcome from the owners, we instantly knew our time at The Coach House was going to be a cherished memory for many years to come. I am pleased to write that our initial expectations were surpassed. The peaceful surroundings and endless supply of fire wood made for a very cosy and comfortable stay. Another great advantage was the centralised location to both the coast and Snowdonia that meant we were able to see all the beautiful scenery that North Wales has to offer. All in all the perfect cottage in the perfect setting and we are already planning our return visit. "
