There is also a ground floor bathroom, kitchen/diner and sitting room with woodburning stove. To the exterior is an enclosed garden with a picnic bench and ample off-road parking. Birds Nest offers a secluded location, ideal for those looking to get away-from-it-all.
Jedburgh is a quiet town lying 10 miles inside the Scottish Border, situated halfway between Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh. There are shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy nearby, as well as Jedburgh Castle Jail, Mary Queen of Scots House and the imposing abbey, which towers over the town and dates back to 1138. The Borders also offer walking and cycling along St Cuthbert's Way, a 62 mile trail between Melrose and Lindisfarne, which passes Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre.
Reviews of Birds Nest
"Just spent a week in Birds Nest cottage...It's on a working farm, but very private, Wendy & Willie are perfect host, nothing too much trouble for them. The cottage is stunning as are the views around the cottage. There is everything and more that you need. I would recommend a stay here. We are definitely coming back, we fell in love with the place. It's ideal for going places to visit. Jedburgh Abbey is lovely, can get a train into Edinburgh, lovely gardens to walk round, nearby. Also Wendy & Willie took us for a tour round their farm on the quad bikes, busy time for them with the sheep, but just dropped everything and took us round."
