Reviews of Tombae
"Just had the most wonderful 5 day break in this beautiful, well equipped, comfortable cottage. The perfect 'home from home'. We were so delighted on arrival to see a very well kept property, spotlessley clean and cosy. Jennifer, the owner, was very accommodating and friendly and could be contacted at anytime. My partner and son both had a terrific time exploring the area and we made visits to Inverness, Aviemore and even the Cairngorm mountains. Loch Morlich is also a must see. The small village of Carrbridge is only 10 mins away where the Landmark Adventure Park awaits promising a fantastic family day out. Also noteworthy is a visit to the reindeer centre outside Aviemore . All in all a wonderful holiday and Tombae cottage was a very welcome retreat. Would definately return."

"The cottage is ideally situated for visiting different places such as Aviemore and walking in the hills and the lovely lochs. The cottage is very comortable and has all the amenities one would require for a family holiday. The views from the cottage, even on a dull day are beautiful. I would recommend this cottage as a fantastic retreat or action packed holiday. I would certainly consider returning. Jennifer the owner is readily available for any information about good places for walks etc."

"I had read a couple of negative reviews so was slightly concerned. There was absolutely no need whatsoever as we found the cottage excellent. Everything worked and it was spotless. Perfect, peaceful and a beautiful location. The cottage had everything we needed for a lovely highland holiday. We self cater quite a bit and this cottage more than compared with other rentals we have stayed in. It was well equipped and the lay out suited us really well with a large open plan kitchen/diner. We look forward to a return visit in 2019."

"We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying in this lovely place. Unlike a recent reviewer we have nothing negative to say about this holiday cottage. We arrived late Saturday afternoon and because the sun had been shining on the cottage all day it was very hot inside so the first thing we did was open ALL the windows without any problem. We found that all of the appliances we used during our stay were in good working order and the cottage was spotlessly clean. We particularly love the fact that the cottage is so peaceful and quiet yet is situated only a short distance from a number of little villages. We would not hesitate in returning to this cottage for another weeks holiday."

"Pictures on website did not match the interior or exterior of property. The property needed a good clean inside and out. All small appliances needed replacing. The oven grill did not work. No information on how house appliances worked. No local information giving doctors or emergency information. First time we have arrived and no welcome pack with basic essentials, milk or tea bags!! Fridge shelves broke but were repaired by owner straight away. Disappointed that my review was not put on Sykes cottages who we booked through as everyone should be able to access both good and bad reviews. Was a shame about property as location was ideal."

"Just had an amazing weeks stay at this well furnished Cottage. It really was a shame we only had a week, as it was cosy & warm. Loch Garten is only a mile or so away. There is a walk opposite the driveway that will take you through the Abernethy Woods. I took this after it had Snowed which was one highlight of our stay. This is a very popular place to stay going by comments in the Visitors Book from Guests from all over the world. Hopefully we will get a chance to come back again. "

"We loved everything about Tombae. It is in a great location for exploring the Cairngorms region. We walked, golfed, went sightseeing, and thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the cottage admiring the view. We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home for two weeks."

"Tombae is a beautiful cottage with all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay. The house is decorated to a high standard and has a very homely feel to it. We had a fantastic week over New Year here and we would definitely consider booking Tombae again for a peaceful week away. There is a pullout mattress under the single bed which could be used for a sixth person in your party. Thanks again for a lovely week. "
