Reviews of Polfearn Chalet

"This is a wonderful place to stay. It looks quite small from the outside but it is a very spacious and lovely home for a week. Log burner in the lounge, comfy sofas. The bedroom is well designed and the bed very comfortable. Central heating is at your discretion so no restrictions, nor is there any on the logs used. Kitchen is small but big enough for a table and chairs for two and who cooks huge meals on holiday anyway. But all mod cons in there. The bathroom is huge and very swish, wonderful shower and plenty of towels and two bathrobes, what more could you want. Altogether would highly recommend this place."

"The chalet is lovely, it has everything you need for a week long stay, was very clean, and had plenty of kitchen equipment. The location is great with the loch a couple of minutes walk away and good access to local towns via car. Being able to bring the dog along is brilliant and unlike some places we have stayed, there is absolutly no evidence of any other dogs having been there! I would not hesitate to recommend it!"

"stayed here for a week which included my husbands birthday and we had just the best time. beautiful chalet exceptionally well equipped run by a lovely couple who stay next door who were there if we needed them but were never intrusive, the chalet was very private especially the back garden and decking with hot tub the area is outstanding and we did some awesome walks and cycling (a lot of hills but the views from the top were spectacular). the chalet is next to the river Awe and Loch Etive but only a fifteen minute walk to the village shops and Taynuilt Hotel where we had an amazing dinner. A perfect couple holiday destination."

The decor was modern and not too fussy, but homely all the same. All you needed in the kitchen to cook any meal, bathroom was excellent. We took our dog and 4 month old baby and we will definitely return. Hot tub was the icing on the cake and we had many pleasant evening, watching the swallows with a glass of Prosecco. The surrounding area was beautiful, and the scenery is spectacular. It helped we also had perfect weather!!"

"Taynuilt is an unspoilt, quiet and traditional Highland village with superb surroundings thanks to Loch Etive and the walkways alongside and further afield. Recommended are a visit to Falls of Cruachan, Angus Gardens and the remote parts of Loch Awe which can be reached by local buses from Oban which pass through Taynuilt. From my visit to this beautiful part of Scotland last year I knew some of its attractions but discovered quite a few more. Polfearn Chalet would suit people who love to be in the middle of a stunning countryside and still be able to get to places such as Oban and Islands quickly. The Chalet's beautiful interior design and various comforts makes it a very enjoyable short-term home after being out all day or for having restful days inside it and or on the deck. Despite some people living close by, the premises on which the Chalet stands are very quiet, as is the whole of the farming land surrounding it. "

It was like a home from home with everything we needed to be more than comfortable and some great instructions and tips for exploring the local areas left for us to peruse. The hot tub and bathroom jacuzzi were particular highlights during our stay in the Chalet, as were evenings curled up on the sofa with a glass of wine by the log fire."

We found the locals very dog friendly and happy to help with any queries we had, It was quiet and peaceful fight near a loch, (where Skyfall was filmed. (over the other side). The cottage was very clean well maintained and spaceious, we did a lot of sight seeing and even found the cows friendly!!! I would recommend this place to anyone. On a bad note, we had to leave :-("

"We were looking for somewhere special for a great weekend away together for hill walking and geocaching but not somewhere too far away either. With one of us living in England and myself in central Scotland, we decided that the northern area of Scotland would be wonderful and I found this chalet after a quick browse online. It had a hot tub, a lovely bath, log fire and all the amenities one would hope for in such a location and we both knew we'd found a winner. The sat nav took us right to it with no problems and we arrived on time. The place was lovely. Warm and inviting with lots of space. The living room was comfortable and had a nice TV (which we didn't use much but it was nice to have). a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was exceptional. We especially loved how the kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a weekend of cooking, including milk and sundries. We were there in the snow and it was great to go for walks with our cameras and get great shots of this beautiful area! We also walked into the village for lunch at the Robin's Nest Tea Room as well as picking up some fresh haggis from the butcher for Burns night. A short drive and we were also able to go to Oban where we shopped, enjoyed Costa Coffee and had a wonderful Fish and Chips by the seafront. Thanks to the owner for a memorable weekend!"

"don't be put off by the approach to this accomadation - inside it is well furnished, comfortable and warm. The bathroom is amazing with a spa bath and 'rain' shower, the living room is comfortably furnished and spacious, the log burner is easy to light and effective at heating the room. The bedroom is also very comfortable. The kitchen is compact but well equipped. We didnt actually get to use the hot tub as the weather was not kind to us this week. The owner is on hand if there are any problems and is welcoming and helpful without being obtrusive. This is fairly recently furnished and decoration and furnishings are of a good quality. There were one or two teething problems but once these are ironed out it will be excellent"
