Reviews of Stone Gables

"Good value for money for a large family weekend stay with small dog. Well laid out and lots of space for everyone. There were 10 of us, but we needed the 7 bedrooms for our family dynamic. The house was very well equipped and included some of the kitchen things you usually have to bring, such as dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid/spices etc, and seemed to have every appliance you might want. Owner met us on arrival and showed us around. Very friendly and helpful, even let us in early to set up our surprise birthday celebration. Outside the barbeque hut and hot tub would have been fun, but the weather was truly dire on our weekend so we barely used either. House warmed up very quickly and had a lovely atmosphere. TV's in every corner and plenty board games for the kids on a rainy day. Wifi also worked well. Walk to the village is not far and is easy walking distance for most (takes about 10 minutes to walk), but need to be very careful as quite a busy road and no pavement. On the down side, the house is a bit tired and could use some TLC and updating although there are 2 brand new shower rooms which were lovely. House is near the road with parking at the front which is the large tarred area shown, and not 'down' a driveway, so you would need to keep a close eye on young kids (or dog) when unpacking/packing. All in all though, it was great fun and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
