Location
Grange Lough is a wonderful, cosy detached cottage, perched perfectly on the banks of Grange Lough, a short drive from the County Roscommon town of Strokestown. Set solely on the ground floor, the cottage has four bedrooms, each with their very own en-suite shower rooms, including three double bedrooms and a twin room. There is also a extra WC for added convenience, a kitchen with a dining area, and a sitting room with a warming open fire. Outside, there is a lawned garden to the front and rear, while the front patio with furniture is ideal for alfresco dining. There is also plenty of off road parking. Set in such a fabulous area, with traditional music showcased regularly at the local pub, Grange Lodge is a wonderful Irish retreat for all the family.
Situated in the eastern part of County Roscommon is the charming heritage town of Strokestown with its lovely selection of shops and pubs, the Strokestown Golf Club and the annual Agricultural Show. It is home to Strokestown Park House, an 18th century mansion with an exquisite six acre walled garden, which has been restored to its original majesty and the longest herbaceous border in Ireland. It also plays host to the Irish National Great Famine Museum; a superb base for an Irish break, with plenty to explore and discover.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
Reviews of Grange Lodge
"We were looking for a comfortable four bedroom cottage for a weekend family re-union and Grange Lodge fitted the bill perfectly. Communication with Barry, the owner, was prompt and trouble free and we were delighted with what greeted us on our arrival. Four en suite bedrooms, a large homely kitchen and very comfortable sitting room. Very spacious and safe gardens too if you happen to have young ones - which we didn't!!. Great pub and restaurant just 300 metres away on the shores on Grange Lough, and Strokestown is just a short drive. Great central location fopr those wishing to explore this lovely part of Ireland"

"We have just spent a lovely week's break at Grange lodge. The accommodation was spacious with a lovely dining table in the kitchen, a comfortable living room, four bedrooms with comfy beds and each with its own en suite. The grounds were extensive and well kept which meant we could make the most of the sporadic sunshine with the BBQ and the kids playing garden games and in their paddling pool. We had a fantastic day on the boat going through the Lakes to Drumod for a lovely lunch at Harkin's bistro. The men were spoilt for choice with fishing spots whilst the girls found plenty to entertain the children- including an enchanting visit to Gillighan's World of Fairies. There were plenty of nice eateries around too with the very helpful owner Barry providing plenty of suggestions. For nights in there was a well equipped kitchen and DVD library. All in all we had a wonderful stay and are going home feeling relaxed with lots of happy memories. We would recommend Grange lodge for fishermen, family and friends wanting to explore the Strokestown Lakes and surrounding areas."
