The village straddles the Boyle River that links Oakport Lake with its larger sister, Lough Key, via a weir and Clarendon lock gates 300 metres upstream. The town of Carrick-On-Shannon is 9 miles away and offers many boating and water activities on the River Shannon along with good pubs and restaurants.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
Reviews of Kilronan Ranch And Tuition Centre
"We stayed in this property for a week in September and were well pleased with our choice which was in an ideal spot to explore Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo. The directions we were given to find the place were good and clear and we found it without too much hassle. The location is spectacular with fabulous unspoiled views over the fields and mountains. Unfortunately we picked a week of terrible weather and we weren't able to take advantage of the walking routes in the area which was a real shame. The cottage was extremely well equipped and certainly had everything we needed and more besides. The bed was super comfortable and made for some great nights' sleep. An added bonus is that it's dog friendly so we were able to take our boy away with us too. We really enjoyed our break away and the peace and quiet was very much appreciated. There is a super pub about 2 miles away and we would also recommend a meal at The Moorings. The owner was super friendly and was happy to chat and make suggestions for nice places to visit or eat and drink in the area. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place for a peaceful and relaxing break away - an ideal spot to really get away from it all."
