The small town of Bangor Erris is set by the banks of the River Owenmore near Carrowmore Lake which makes it a fantastic base for fishing enthusiasts. Carrowmore Lake is well-known for being a great location for fly-fishing with salmon and sea trout on offer. The town itself is ideally situated on the main road between Ballina and Belmullet which opens up access to the whole of County Mayo and to the south is the Bangor Trail, a hiking route which takes you through the Nephin Beg mountain range.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
