Historical artefacts have been found in the area which date back to the Stone Age, dating this town about 2.5 million years old. Famously, John F. Kennedy was a descendant of the Fitzgeralds of Bruff, with one of its pubs named after him, 'The Kennedy Rooms'. Local amenities include a local store and a selection of pubs and restaurants.
