Reviews of Rossbeigh Beach Cottage No 8
"Blown away by the stunning views among the unusually good Irish weather, "we've struck gold" was the text I sent to a friend who couldn't make it. Idyllic setting, quiet except for the crashing of the waves on the shore, at the top of the village overlooking all of Dingle Bay and Rossbeigh Beach. Within easy drive of the Skellig Ring and the Reeks. The house was spotlessly clean and obviously well maintained, everything in perfect working order, including the electricity meter - be sure to have plenty of euro coins! The starter pack of provisions was most welcome, especially the makings of a cosy open fire. As well as the superb view of the strand from the living room window, the view to the starlit night sky was superb--be sure to look up! The best thing, of course, was the fact that the cottage was dog friendly and we enjoyed the break with our little four legged pal. He came home exhausted from all the fresh air, with easy access to the dunes and other local walks, including the fairy forest trail and Dooks beach, a 15min drive where U can exercise your pets off leash. The local pub also welcomed all of us into the snug, so we were able to enjoy a bite to eat and a few bowls of water together (it was a quiet time of day/early season, so this might not always be the rule) - on a side note, 'pet friendly accommodation' is still something of a rarity in Ireland, so when you find a good spot do your best to keep it that way - we removed our own and some other dogs poop from the lawn...
