Reviews of Oak Wood House

"This was one of the best parts of our trip to Ireland. The cottage is nestled up a quiet road about 7 minutes outside the village of Kenmare The views are absolutely marvellous. There is space for sleeping 6-7 people though for us, it was just a couples get away. During the day, we went out to explore the 'Ring of Kerry', the Killarney National Park and Dingle, coming back to the cottage in the afternoons to relax and read in front of the fire. When we arrived, the owners had left us some fresh milk, a folder full of brochures with things to do and an apple tart to enjoy with a cup of tea! A lovely, welcoming touch. The town is a lovely spot for dinner or even a quiet drink in a pub. The locals are lovely and very helpful to tourists such as ourselves. The house has a big kitchen with everything you might need. The laundry is full equipped with washer and drier. There is plenty of space, even for a large family. For this location, you do need your own transport. My only feedback would be the lack of wifi. As overseas guests, we had some planning done online and being able to access the bookings and information online from the cottage would have been great. All in all, a great location for couples to have a quiet romantic getaway in one of the most picturesque regions in Ireland."
