The lively fishing village of Kilkieran is on the stunning rugged coastline in County Galway, and features a stone pier where the local fishermen process their catch of salmon and seaweed, which visitors will find fascinating to watch. The village is a short way from some beautiful unspoiled beaches. Further afield but no less interesting are the Aran Islands, famous for knitted jumpers and an abundance of wildlife, and boats can be chartered to tour around these lovely isles and glimpse a view of traditional Irish life. Connemara National Park, and Connemara Loop are always worth a visit and offer some super walking opportunities, and the abundance of lakes in the area will delight keen anglers. This lovely county has much to offer the visitor at any time of year.
Towering cliffs stand next to vast stretches of golden sand, whilst vast mountain ranges cradle cool, low-lying lakes. The Galway region epitomises the term ‘great outdoors'; with fantasticwalking and cycling and exhilarating water sports.
Reviews of 2 Clancy Cottages
"Arrived from UK around 10.00pm feeling very tired and stressed after driving from Dublin, took almost three hours. The owner of the cottage (Mr Clancy) had been looking out for our car and appeared as soon as we arrived, got to say he was a gentleman, took time to give us as much information without over doing it. The cottage was a dream, very well presented and spotless, everything we needed was at hand. The situation of the cottage was superb, great views of the village and the Atlantic and surrounded by well kept landscaped gardens ( two other cottages owned by Mr Clancy were close by) Perfect location to explore that part of Ireland, as we did each day. The village was ideal, local pub and a village store. Without a doubt we will return."
