Reviews of Robin's Roost
"Robin's Roost is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. It is ideal for a couple but can accommodate a child in the same bedroom. It is well equipped and very nicely presented. The owners live next door and are very friendly. There is a pub and shop a short walk away and a supermarket in nearby Clonbur. This property is ideally located for exploring Galway, Connemara, coastal villages, and Loughs Corrib and Maske. Lough Corrib is beautiful and can be viewed in all its glory from a local walk called the Seanbothar which skirts around Mount Gable which itself offers a pleasant climb. There are lots of opportunities for fishing for those with a particular interest."

The owner has put a lot of thought into what you might need and the place was spotless fresh and bright. I would recommend this to any couple wanting away for a quiet break."

"We received a very warm welcome from the owners who live next door. The area is beautiful with breathtaking scenery of lochs and mountains. There is plenty of good food on offer in pubs in nearby villages. There is also a very nice local pub a few minutes stroll from the cottage in which we were made to feel welcome."

"Robin's Roost ticked all the boxes. It is fully equipped to a high standard with all that is needed for a short break away; from its front door views of neighbouring mountains can be seen and in mid-October we took breakfast outside! Perfect."

"We are very independent travellers and thus a self catering holiday is our preference; added to this we enjoy the great outdoors and thus a cottage situated in expansive surroundings is ideal. But we also like our 'creature comforts'! Robin's Roost ticked all these boxes. It is fully equipped to a high standard with all that is needed for a short break away; from its front door views of neighbouring mountains can be seen (and in mid-October we took breakfast outside!); it is centrally located for 'exploring' the Galway/Mayo region; the owners greeted us warmly and explained a few finer details then within minutes of arrival we had walking boots on and walking the lakeside. We used the kitchen for breakfast and found everything to a high standard and all in good working order. The heating is via radiator on a time clock which can be manually over-ridden and worked perfectly. Likewise the over-bath shower was of a high standard producing continuous hot water. The furniture in the lounge area is comfortable with a dining table able to sit four. There is also a flat screen TV. The bedroom is large with ample storage and has a double plus single bed (so not only ideal for couples but also for those with a youngster). The cottage's location is remote: within walking distance of the local pub but necessitating a drive of a few miles to the nearest restaurant. This did not worry us at all. On the plus side it is equidistant from large towns/cities to the north, west, south and east. So for us a perfect cottage for a short break."

"We have come back from our holiday after staying at Robins Roost relaxed and invigorated. Set in a wonderful location, everything in the property was pristine. The owners were warm and friendly and willing to recommend places to visit. We used this property as a base for touring the area. Wonderful walking countryside, and 'yes' each day we were visited by 'a Robin'. Because this property is on one level and there is a single bed as well as a double in the bedroom it would lend itself to someone who might have slight mobility problems, as well as a couple with a child. There is ample parking and a nice bench and table for eating 'al fresco', being able to take in the wonderful view as seen in pic 2. I have already recommended this property to friends."

"Everything about the accommodation was first class, including the most comfortable reclining loungers. The situation was absolutely wonderful, looking down the lawn towards the lake and the hills. The surrounding area was consistently beautiful. Heard the cuckoo every day at Robin's Roost and had Mr and Mrs bullfinch for company on the lawn!"
