"This was an absolutely beautiful cottage. We booked it for my parents for a weekend away. They totally loved it and wanted me to feedback how wonderful it was. The attention to detail second to none. They didn't want to leave. Please thank the hosts mum for making it such a wonderful stay for them. "

"I could not believe how tiny the cottage is. I heard a noise coming from the toilet and asked the keyholder to check it. She tried to dismiss my concerns and then finally admitted it was broken. The bedrooms are so tiny that you constantly hit your head and back when walking past the TV in the ensuite bedroom. (the room with the broken toilet) That bathroom also has no electrical outlet, and there is no place to do hair or makeup in the main part of the bedroom which was horribly small. There is no place to put your suitcase and still be able to walk around. The second bedroom has no TV. The washer and dryer are in a totally separate building full of bugs flying around. I emailed the keyholder shortly before we came to the cottage and was told there is a pub within walking distance. Not true. The pub is closed, and the keyholder knew it according to her husband who came the next day to temporarily patch the toilet. She also should have asked if we wanted a dining reservation in Mountcharles, because it was Saturday night, and tables at the only restaurant were booked. We got a tiny pub table by the door. There is a large room in the back of the house, but the way the house is built, it is inconvenient and looks like it was added on after the original structure. The furniture is strangely placed so the room just does not work. All of the furniture in the cottage is very uncomfortable including a small, plastic loveseat, although the beds were borderline. We left after four days, and we would not have made it a full week. Sad to report that this is an unacceptable rental at any price."

"We had a lovely time in the cottage - it was everything I hoped for and more. It was in a great setting - very homely and a great location to set off sightseeing from. The cottage was well stocked and we wanted for nothing. I have stayed in the area before and this cottage blew my previous accommodation out of the water!"

"It was home from home, everything we could have required was there, even had food in fridge/freezer and cupboards, and a plate of fresh home make scones and jam waiting for us on arrival. The location of the cottage was well well place for travelling the coast roads in either direction and only 6 miles from Donegal Town. We are already making plans to return again."

"We stayed in Summerhill Cottage for a week in July 2014. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. We were greeted by Emily who was absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us! The scones, homemade cake, milk, butter & jam which are included in the welcome hamper certainly did not go unnoticed and were just what we needed after a long journey! There was even 2 bottles of wine chilling in the fridge for us! We had our 7 month old son with us and Emily kindly ensured that there was a travel cot, feeding chair and changing mat all ready and waiting for us. The cottage itself is in a great location and ideal if you wish to explore different parts of Donegal. It's fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The interior of the house is decorated in a traditional Irish cottage style with a woodburner in the kitchen. We were blessed with lovely warm weather so we didn't need to avail of the turf which was also provided. Umbeknown to us we'd left a pair of our son's socks behind after we'd checked out and Emily text us to let us know that she'd left them at a local shop for us to collect. Where else would you get that?? The only complaint I have is that we couldn't stay longer. We've stayed in loads of self catering accomodation before but it was the personal service and extra touches that set Summerhill Cottage apart from the rest. We hope to return as soon as we can! Thanks again."
