Reviews of Finwood Cottage 2

"The cottage was in a good location with good outdoor space for our son to run around in. However we were disappointed with our stay here. The cottage was not as clean as we would have liked, and some aspects had seen better days for example, the microwave, which we had to use frequently to sterilise baby bottles, was badly corroded around the door, and the mortar between the cobblestones in the living room was broken/loose (not the best flooring for a family with young children). Our main complaint was due to the swimming pool being too cold to use. We purposely booked and paid a premium for a cottage with a pool so our young son could practice his swimming and we could introduce our baby to swimming. However, I took my son in to discover the temperature in the pool was only 22 degrees - after 10-15 minutes he started shivering and his lips turned blue! Clearly we were not going to take our baby into the pool. We raised this with the owners, and the heating had apparently been on 24/7 - it did not get above 22 degrees during our week stay. I braved taking my son one more time, but again, only managed 10 minutes before his lips went blue. Massive disappointment."

"On arrival we were made very welcome by the Owner with the apology of the lack of eggs as a fox had dispatched all the chickens but that was the only down side of the holiday . Wonderful nearby pubs and a very central area for plenty of visiting The cottage was supplied with all the items you could wish for and very quiet and roomy."

"What a little gem. Wanted to find a place to stay near Stratford Upon Avon and found this cottage on Sykes website. Couldn't have been more pleased. The accommodation was immaculate, warm and welcoming. The owners has left a little present upon arrival a basket of fresh eggs (laid by their own chickens) and very nice indeed and few necessities. The facilities on-site where fab a pool and for the more energetic a little gym, The owners live on-site and where lovely. On-hand if you needed any information. The accommodation does need a car, but most places are easily reached 20/30 minutes away. The local village has two nice pubs both of which great food. Would definitely recommend to family and friends, thank you for a fabulous stay."
