Reviews of Hillcrest

"This is a comfortable place to stay, despite, as in the overview, the nearest shops etc our 20 mins away. This didn't cause us any problems. The owner is very helpful & if you have any problems he is just next door. The accommodation has everything you'll need for your stay. Despite the last review on this website being dated November 2014, the note/log book that is inside makes good reading with visitors from around the world including people that come back on a regular bases. We would happily stay here again when visiting this area of the UK."

"This property is more than homely, and completely inviting. The level of cleanliness was overwhelming (coming from someone who is a neat freak!!), not to mention the warm welcome we recieved on arrival. A well kept and quiet neighbourhood, easy to find and spacious enough for two, with everything provided and cosy to the maximum. I will definitely be returning again. A lovely drive out, to what feels like the country side, very scenic, and everything's very accessible with the Stourbridge Town Centre not being a far drive off, nor the train station. Unfortunately we didn't get to explore the surroundings (canals or enfield), but definitely on the next trip!!"

"Cosy and warm property with plenty of equipment. We loved the proximity of the canal for walks with our dog. We booked it as we were going to BBC Good Food show and it was only a 40 min drive to NEC which was great."

"Pleasant and helpful owners. Unobtrusive yet approachable. Cosy, comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Shower room could have done with shelf(ves). Location generally OK but a fair distance from shops and pubs which restricted drinking if driving. Good pubs in Woolaston with friendly landlords and customers.Good bus services to other towns. The website description did not mention Woolaston as being nearest village and failed to mention that Stourton has no facilities whatsoever."

"We decided to visit our friends that live in the West Midlands, England in May from 18th -25th. My Wife and I viewed several B/B's in that area on the net- but in the end we decided to rent an apartment. The one we chose was "Hillcrest" at Stourton, Westmidlands. Although it is attached to the owners house, we did not see or speak to them. The apartment was beyond our dreams to what we expected. lovely lounge with comfortable settee and armchair to relax and watch TV. Comfortable double bed,and a well equipped kitchen...and a washing machine !!. We loved the bathroom with it's " power shower" and all so beautifully clean. Although only a short distance from the main road the apartment was very quiet and the driveway lead right up to the door. Well done Mr & Mrs Carr, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and seeing our friends so hope we can have a return trip in the future"

"This is an extremely comfortable, self-contained cottage with all mod cons. We stayed there in the winter time and the gas central heating ensured that we were always warm and comfortable. The owners live next door and are very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. However, if you want to keep yourself to yourself, they will fully respect that and you wouldn't even know they were there. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the surounding areas such as Worcestershire, (Worcester is about 20 miles away), Shropshire (a visit to Bridgnorth and Ironbridge are a must) and is conveniently located for access to Stourbridge Junction station for trips into Birmingham. Our dog was welcome to stay which was a big bonus and there are lots of nice places to walk there. Within walking distance are walks along the canal-side and the old sand quarry which is surrounded by woods and very quiet. Within greater walking distance, (although more realistically a short drive away), is the National Trust parkland of Kinver Edge, with its many walks, woods and even the old cottages built into the sandstone rocks. We weren't staying there for a holiday, but there is a surprising amount of history around that area along with nice, quaint villages and rural surroundings all within easy striking distance."
