The scattered village of Farlow lies amongst beautiful countryside in southern Shropshire, offering many walks and cycle routes in all directions. Just a short drive away, beneath the shadow of the mystical Clee Hills, the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer provides a refreshing selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in an array of Georgian and Tudor architecture, along with a striking parish church with an unusual, twisted spire. The area around the Clee Hills provides excellent walking, cycling and golf, plus fishing can be enjoyed at one of the many pools in the area or on a quiet spot along the River Severn.
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
