"My husband and I due to work commitmnets now live 245 miles away from most of our Children so to have such a beautiful location to spend Christmas all together means so much to us. We cannot fault the lodge and the hot tub is a great bonus. Barbara is so welcoming and makes you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. The lodge is decorated beautifully for the festive season we hope to spend many more Christmas holidays there in the future."

"We went to Hampton Lodge for a week to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was a family holiday and there were 8 of us and there was plenty of room. Barbara came to welcome us and she couldn't have been more friendly and helpfull. The hot tub was great and was used numerous times during our stay. We all went for an evening meal at The Boat in Erbistock (recommended by Barbara) and the food was amazing. We used Mere Karz who had an 8 seater to take all of us together and the driver was great. We would definitely recommend Hampton Lodge and would love to come back again."

Barbara popped over to introduce herself and provided us with some useful information. She is so friendly and bakes you a lovely cake! We cooked every night and there was plenty of kitchen utensils to use! The lodge was spacious for 8 of us and the hot tub was also big enough for us all to go in at the same time. Saturday we chilled, used the hot tub and watched Netflix which was so relaxing. We went to the boat house for Sunday lunch which I would also recommend! On a whole we all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would definitely recommend to anyone! Thanks again Barbara! "

We had a great meal at the Boat House in Ellesmere and a fun bike ride along the canal to Welshampton. A trip to Shrewsbury and Llangollen across the border in Wales is also a must. "Stayed here with friends as an early 50th celebration. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, tastefully and comfortably decorated throughout. Comfy beds, good showers, towels for hot tub use, plenty of crockery, cutlery everything you could possibly need was catered for. The surroundings are blissful just a few sheep, pheasants and the odd rabbit. Sitting in the hot tub sipping prosecco and listening to the wonderful sound of nature was just perfect. Barbara popped by on arrival to introduce herself and run over some things, and she bobbed by each day to check the tub. Never intrusive, just a lovely lady who makes great cakes. Our one trip out was a walk to the Sun Inn pub, but on route we were offered s lift from a local farmer, ladies in the truck men in the trailer, hilarious, what a gem of a guy dropped us off on the pub carpark. I can honestly say we had a fabulous time and made some great memories. I would highly recommend it is all it says and more. Cant wait to revisit, so thank you very much Barbara and Richard we had a blast. "

The lodge itself is located in a lovely part of Shropshire with lots of walks nearby. Although it was only a five minute drive to Ellesmere, our group thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the location with most evenings spent in the hot tub. We loved the amount the lodge had to offer, catering to everyone's needs. The table tennis was a big hit with our mini tournaments and the field was great for rounders. We had a lovely barbecue outside on the bench, the lodge really had everything we wanted and so much more! The lodge was immaculate and all the bedrooms were a great size. The kitchen was well equipped, making it easy to cook for all seven of us. "We were a party of 7 and had a fabulous week at Hampton Lodge. Ideal in so many ways. Lovely quiet, safe setting. Our Grandchildren aged 8,7 & 5 could run around outside safely and entertain themselves. The hot tub was amazing and was well used by us all. Lodge well equipped in every department from the kitchen equipment, outside games, and towels for the hot tub. The Children enjoyed reading the books before bedtime. There was no shaver point in the lodge, but when we spoke to Barbara she immediately resolved it by leaving us a two pin plug. We enjoyed some wonderful days out including, Park Hall Farm, Attingham Park (National Trust), Chester Zoo, The Follies and the final day was canal boat hire which was our favourite day. The only downside was the water pressure. Only one water source at a time so be warned if somebody is in the shower don't flush the toilet or use dishwasher, run a tap or anything. Once you know about it you can work around it. All in all a great memorable week. Would we return? Yes we would! Its just a lovely place to come and spend a week to get away. Oh and mustn't forget the wonderful welcome cake - Well done Barbara - fantastic all round - Thank you."

The accommodation itself has everything one could wish for and is absolutely immaculate inside and out. All rooms are a good size, 3 bathrooms certainly helps for larger parties and the hot tub and outside veranda are among the nicest I have seen at any cottages I have stayed at. The owners are friendly and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a true 'get away from it all' break. "Hampton Lodge was the perfect place for our group of five seniors. The accommodation was excellent and we received a very warm welcome from Barbara, (the owner). The lodge proved the ideal position from which to explore. We enjoyed visits to a number of National Trust properties including, Chirk Castle and the fascinating Erddig Hall and Gardens. Llangollen and the horse drawn barge trip was also favourites. If you want to eat out in the evenings, unfortunately you will need to take the car. However the nearest local pub,The Sun Inn at Welshampton proved to be perfect for us with a good variety of excellent meals. Back to the Lodge. The facilities were first class and the hot tub a great addition. One point visitors might wish to be aware of is that the upstairs bedroom is accessed by a rather steep wooden staircase, which may be an issue for the "not so fit" guest. We would heartily recommend Hampton Lodge to anyone looking for a quiet rural base, from which to explore Shropshire and surrounding area"

The birdsong almost sounds amplified in the quiet and at night there is no light pollution. The grandsons loved the hot tub as did we when the rest of the family left! The place is altogether of a high standard - far above what one would, sadly, normally associate with this country."

"Our party of 2 families with teenage children spent a great week at Hampton Lodge. The lodge is very well appointed with all that's necessary for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The hot tub was well used by all, particularly the younger ones. Good pubs and restaurants nearby, the Cross Foxes at Erbistock, The Sun Inn at Welshampton and The Boat House in Ellesmere were recommended by Barbara (Hampton Lodges's owner) and are well with a visit. There's lots to do in the area particularly if you are prepared to drive for an hour or so. The Ironbridge museums are very good and the numerous activities in Wales are well worth the trip (Bounce Below and the Zip Wire at Blaenau Ffestiniog and the Ffestiniog railway make for a great day out with dinner at the Cross Foxes on the way back). A more sedate day but just as good fun is to hire a canal boat from Llangollen and go over the amazing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct with lunch at the Navigation Inn on the half way point. We had a great week at Hampton Lodge and I thoroughly recommend both the lodge itself and the area in general"

She left a beautiful homemade spongecake with complimentary Tea, Coffee and milk. The night before we left Barbara visited and to make sure that we enjoyed our stay and whether there was anything she could do to improve what the lodge offered. We felt that the lodge offered everthing you needed and did not need improving. Interesting places to visit such as the Llangollen Canal and Heritage site, Chester Zoo, Chester town and National Trust properties including Chirk Castle and Attingham Park are not too far away. The bedrooms are well furnished with comfy beds and plenty of storage with hanging space, if you feel like unpacking! The bathrooms are modern and clean with the option of a bath in the upstairs bathroom if that's your pleasure. We love to cook whilst we're away and the kitchen is well thought out with plenty of pots and pans are provided. The outside area is great with plenty of parking and room to spread out and play games in the warmer months. The terrace is lovely to sit out on with a fabulous view that included 2 miniature horses whilst we were there. The hot tub is very large and luxurious and well maintained. We met the owner on a couple of occasions during our stay and she was friendly and helpful. She even left us one of the nicest Victoria sponge I've ever had. We don't go out much when we're away but we did venture to Cheshire Oaks shopping for the day which was easily accessible. The stairs were quite steep to the upstairs bedroom but there was a stair gate in place and there is plenty of downstairs sleeping for children or the less mobile. "It has been wonderful staying at Hampton Lodge, set within the beautiful and peaceful Shropshire countryside, you are close enough to the owners farm in-case of any problems but you are not over looked by anyone and have your own drive to come and go as you please. The lodge was perfect for us as we wanted a relaxing and peaceful getaway, with the hot tub adding that extra bit of luxury and helped us unwind after days spent walking around local villages and towns. We were made very welcome on arriving with a lovely homemade Victoria sponge, and Barbra explained all the facilities, local attractions and places to eat. We can't wait to return in the very near future and highly recommend Hampton Lodge for a relaxing get away. Also, thank you to the owners for putting several sheep in the adjacent field, as one of our group loves sheep - this kept her very happy! :-)"

"Spent a fantastic 4 days celebrating our daughters 21st. The lodge is perfect and has a great spacious living area which we found very good for entertaining extended family guests. The location is very quiet and surrounded by fields. Access is excellent as you drive right up the the lodge and there is parking for several cars. The hot tub was a nice feature as was the table tennis. There are sheep who come to within a few feet of the fence by the balcony to greet you each morning. The owners are very helpful and attentive to needs, always looking to ensure you have everything and asking about how to improve the stay further. All in all an excellent holiday accommodation."

"This whole holiday was perfect right from the very start. As soon as we set our eyes on the lodge, we were delighted with it, as it was stunning and a little piece of heaven away from home. The service provided by the owner was impeccable and cannot be faulted in any way. The lodge was just so beautiful and impeccably designed and our every need thought of. We will be recommending to all our family and friends and we cannot wait to return!"
