The cosy, king-sized bedroom comes with original wooden beams and exposed brick-work, as does much of the rest of the property. With a welcoming, open-plan living area that incorporates a fitted kitchen and dining table, as well as a pretty front patio for relaxing on or dining outdoors, this property is a great spot for a second honeymoon or romantic break. And with so much to see and do in the local area, it'll be a tough choice whether to stay in and enjoy the house, or go out and explore the countryside.
Nestled in the beautiful South Shropshire valley of the River Teme is the pretty village of Bucknell, complete with two village pubs – both of which serve food. Close to the borders of Wales and Herefordshire, quiet, peaceful village is set in a lovely area of beautiful, unspoiled countryside – ideal for ramblers and hill walkers. The historic market town of Ludlow is close by and is well renowned for the superb quality of its restaurants. Ironbridge provides a wealth of museums whilst the historic town of Shrewsbury is also within easy driving distance. Local towns of Craven Arms and Knighton offer a full range of amenities. Stopping in the village is the Heart of Wales Railway, taking visitors through beautiful, hillside scenery and to the south are the quaint, wood-beamed cottages and cider orchards of North Herefordshire.
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

"The property was very well presented, very clean. The down side for us was that it was much farther away from things than we had realised and was on a very narrow country lane where if another vehicle was coming towards you then you had to reverse down the hill to the bottom of the lane as there were no passing places. We had to do a lot of driving to get to places to eat and visit but maybe this was just us not realising that it was so far out of the way. It certainly was quiet, no internet or mobile phone connection which was not a huge problem, there is a land line phone on site but we could not find the number of the restaurant we wanted to call in the yellow pages. The owners provide a huge amount of leaflets and information which is very useful. Shops for provisions are some distance away although if you do go into Knighton then go to Harry Tuffins supermarket - they have everything you could ever want - and I do mean everything. Their bacon is extremely good my husband tells me. The area is great for walking if the weather is kind to you and there are plenty of attractions to visit if you don't mind the drive."

There is plenty to do in the local area from exploring Shrewsbury to walking and visiting Stokesay Castle, Much Wenlock and the Ludlow Food Centre - its a great area. I would recommend this cottage to couples who enjoy a quiet relaxing holiday - and don't mind a slightly unusual lane when driving to the property!"
