Hornby is a delightful Lancashire village resting in the Lune Valley and is located within the northern part of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Beauty, and within reach of the Yorkshire Dales National Park too, making this a great base for lovers of the outdoors. The village contains a local convenience shop, and a pub along with a local school and fire station, and is home to Hornby Castle set atop a high hill overlooking the river, and is the subject of one of Turner's most-loved paintings. Explore the Lune Valley on foot or by cycling with an array of routes available, or visit the university city of Lancaster for a multitude of attractions.
