Reviews of Durstone Cottage
"This is a lovely big cottage which was perfect for a big family get together. The big dining room was really sociable and it was good to have the 2 separate lounges -one quiet, one noisy! The kids really enjoyed walking up the lane to see the pigs in the farm. It was also great to have the games room -plenty for both adults and kids. Lovely owner who kindly posted back a cuddly toy we managed to leave behind!"

"Quiet location in a beautiful area perfect for a large group. The cottage was clean and warm when we arrived and had everything we needed. Sarah ( the owner) was very helpful and I would defiantly recomend for family gatherings etc. the huge table in the dinning area which links the two cottages was great. We will defiantly be returning."

"We all enjoyed our stay at Durstone Cottage to celebrate my 70th birthday. We were a party of 18 with age range ..70 to 3 years so a wide range of needs that were wholly met with this accommodation. The games room, whilst not in pristine condition, was ideal to entertain those in between hours and no-one was bored, in fact it got quite competetive ! The cottage is very clean, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you need. There are ample bathroom facilities on both floors. Good garden space and it is in a great location, lovely views and scenery and a decent walk to the "local" All in all a memorable weekend , rounded off with a great BBq. Thanks."

"The games room was an absolute 'win' as far as most of us were concerned. The location was a home from home and the views, even from downstairs, were delightful. The long dining room table was ideal as we were one big group rather than several families. Parking for a fleet of cars was a Godsend. The owner was very pleasant and, although nothing went wrong, it was comforting to know she was close by. I have spoken to all my family and friends who joined me on this little holiday and EACH person wants to go back to Durstone Cottages next year and the word to describe our break was 'perfect'! Thank you."

"The house is very roomy, the big dining room is ideal for all guests to gather together & the smaller living rooms are homely and allow smaller groups to have a relax and a chat. We celebrated my husband 50th & had a very relaxing time. The location is lovely in the middle of the country peaceful and quiet. We highly recommend it & we will go again. The landlady is lovely & very accommodating. "

"This was an excellent venue for my husbands 70th Birthday weekend with family and friends. The big dining room was particularly suitable for a party and the 2 well equipped kitchens were brilliant. The sitting rooms were warm and cosy even in the middle of December. The location is lovely and the local pub was very good."

"The property was great for the dogs. Liked the situation of the property - very rural with wonderful views, the tables outside were great and the large dining room was perfect for 20 odd people. It was also useful to have 2 well equipped kitchens when catering for a large party. Also enjoyed the games room."

Great for a big outdoor BBQ and plenty of space for communal dining. Very helpful owners and the gorgeous Herefordshire countryside is spread out around you for soulful education. This appeals to young and old alike."

"The beautiful setting of the cottage, every bedroom had a magnificent view. The kitchen/eating area was well designed allowing large meals to be prepared in both areas and then served in the central dining room. There were footpaths on the doorstep. Easy access to a number of good quality pubs. Plenty of things to do/see in the area."

"Originally farm workers cottages up a mile of farm track, these two properties are badly in need of a face lift. The rooms are awkwardly laid out, with small dining kitchens, saleroom furniture and a poor quality finish. The brick patio at the front was in a terrible state, with broken steps, weeds coming through, and a safety hazard, especially for young children. The large dining room was long, but narrow and difficult to use with benches, and we only used it on one occasion. The description and photos do not give a fair reflection of what this property is now like, and we were very disappointed."
