Location
Buster Barn is a single-storey converted granite barn in the small hamlet of Sampford Spiney. The cottage sleeps two people in one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The living area is spacious and open-plan with an oak fitted kitchen and sitting area with a sofa bed (for alternative sleeping) and dining area. Glazed double doors lead to the courtyard garden outside, where there's a table and chairs, barbecue and a neat little trip trap bridge leads to a gently sloping hillside garden with spectacular long views. Scenic and secluded, yet close to interesting moorland towns Buster Barn is well placed for exploring wild and rugged Dartmoor.
A delightful award-winning market town on the River Tavy, nestling in the south-west slopes of Dartmoor. Tavistock has an indoor pannier market, a diverse range of shops, an excellent choice of pubs, bistros, restaurants, a theatre and a cinema, as well as a leisure pool.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Reviews of Buster Barn
"My husband and myself stayed here from 15-22 sept 2018 with our dog. We absolutely loved it here and did not want to return home. It is a beautiful cottage with amazing views in a very peaceful setting. The owners Sally and Monty were absolutely brilliant. Fresh flowers and cakes on arrival. Anything we needed we just had to ask and it was not a problem. Could not have asked for a better place to spend our wedding anniversary. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to escape their busy lives for a very relaxing break away. Keep up the good work Sally and Monty xx"

"Wow, is the first thing myself and my husband said when we pulled up to the cottage with our dog Newton. We had a really really long drive and arrived very late but to arrive at such a lovely cottage, with milk and delicious homemade cakes waiting for us was just fab! The views from the cottage are simply stunning overlooking many of the Tors and there are fantastic walks right from the door step. The gardens are extensive but also secure which was great for our dog. The owners, Sally & Monty are absolutely lovely people and made us feel so so welcome and are so interesting to talk to. We have an electric van and they even very kindly gave up their garage space so that we could charge our van overnight, so so kind of them. Unfortunately our dog was poorly for a few days so we couldn't get out and hike as a much as we would've liked to but being cooped up indoors was definitely more than bearable in Buster Barn with the beautiful views! Highly recommend a stay here if you're looking for peace and quiet to relax with the added bonus of fantastic walks very close by. Thank you so much Sally & Monty xx "

"Well me and the other half are on our 2nd night of a week long stay and I'm not waiting till I get home to do this. Spotlessly clean, the hosts bend over backwards when you arrive, even to the point where a box of cakes were bought up to us! We are using this as a base camp and are out on the moors 10-12 hours a day hiking but could quite easily just sit on the sofa and watch tv all day! Fully functioning kitchen including washer/Dryer. Tea, coffee supplied, even down to cling film, silver foil. We done a big shop in Tavistock at the large, unameable supermarket, got all the cleaning stuff we need only to find the cupboards stocked up with washing up liquid, kitchen cleaner. Basically, when you rock up here you will need food and drink. That's it, everything else is here. Will defenately be rebooking"

"We arrived in the midst of Storm Brian so the drive in was a bit hairy if you aren't familiar with single track roads. Despite the weather we were very happy when we arrived. We were greeted by some freshly baked cakes which was lovely with a cup of tea watching the rain. The cottage is gorgeous and has everything you need for a long or short break You are out in the sticks so we tended to cook of an evening and found everything we needed in the kitchen. I slept so well, as it is so quiet and completely dark! And the bed was nice a cosy with 2 duvets :D We brought our puppy Lola who had a great time. She loved watching all the birds in the garden though wasn't fond of the horses! The location is perfect for walks on the moors, visiting dog friendly pubs and tea rooms. It is a little far from any beaches so if it is a beach holiday you are after, might not be quite right. Hosts were friendly but respectful of our privacy We would definitely visit again!"

"What a place. So nice. Spacious. Heating makes it lovely and cosy if chilly. Hosts are really friendly and nice. The only downside is the distance along the single track lanes. Don't be put off though, you will be rewarded with a fantastic stay. Peaceful, private and yet not totally alone if you need assistance. Nice walks from door too. If you like to get away from city life then this is the place for you. Well done Sally and Monty for letting us stay in your barn and your great welcome. Thank you"

It is set deep in the Dartmoor countryside, with fantasticl views, and has everything you could possibly need to enjoy and comfortable and relaxing stay. The owners are really welcoming and happy to help you make the most of your holiday with their knowledge of the local area., You have your own very private areas, including a lovely rustic seating shelter where you can just sit with a glass of something and take in the beauty of Dartmoor. Dogs are made very welcome, and they have the sweetest dog of their own who comes to greet you on arrival. Shops are within easy driving distance."
