Reviews of The Shippen
"We book a cottage every year on or near Dartmoor but this was the first time with Sykes Cottages...and never again! We we're terribly disappointed with the quality of the property. It was dirty with cobwebs and dust in the corners and the carpets were grubby and threadbare. The pillows were stained (we told friends who arrived later to bring their own!) and the matresses had springs sticking through such that they had put duvets underneath the sheats! The thin, white curtains were all mouldy and let in all the light. The Wi-Fi didnt work throughout the duration of our week long stay and the shower in the main bathroom was too hot to use. The light in one of the bedrooms didn't work. Such a shame as beautiful building in a beautiful setting...but interior and soft furnishings badly neglected!"
