"Lovely cottage with all the amenities. Lots of walks to do either from the door or within a short drive. Loads of places to visit locally. Ruth, the owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The bed was so soft and comfortable with a very soft and warm quilt.A great place to stay in Derbyshire."

"We were a wedding party and shared both cottages for groom & bride! It was the best experience and amazing cottages. Location for our wedding at shottle was amazing and relaxing. Kept the kiddies occupied with the sheep & horses. It has been a year and would go back for every one."

"Our son was being married in nearby Shottle Hall and this cottage was the perfect place to stay locally before and after the wedding. The cottage is very well eqipped, has two comfortable bedrooms and the warmth from the log burner in the lounge is amazing. Central heating caters for the rest of the cottage including the large bath/shower/wet room. We met the owner Mrs Spendlove who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We would consider returning for a less hectic occasion when we had time to visit the various walks around the beautiful countryside. The cottage next door is the yard looks equally well appointed."

The cottage itself is very well equipped and ideally situated. The view from the Living room window is beautiful and the beds are sooooooooo comfortable! We all hope to return in the future. "The farm was an absolute dream and was everything we could have wished for and more. The tour of the farm and milking was very exciting for the children and having sheep in our garden was lovely for them. The cottage was unique and beautiful with so many little features. The Owners were welcoming and helpful but also left us to our own devices so we felt like it was our little cottage and not staying with them. The farm has so much to do around it and the walks accessible from the doorstep were brilliant. We will be returning here."

"We, my husband and my two teenage sons, actually stayed in Fletcher's Barn which is next to Wiggonlea Stables and both are run by Ruth Spendlove of Wiggonlea Farm. We had an absolute lovely time. The downstairs of the barn is open plan: kitchen -diner -lounge with a woodburner, telly, Wifi and two comfortable sofas. There is a smaller double bedroom (can be made up as twin) ideal for children/teenagers and the bathroom, no tub just a shower. Upstairs is a very spacious double bedroom, again two single divan beds that can be made up as twin or double bed. It is a fabulously big bed and very comfortable. There is a nice big dressing table and a second telly. Also enough room for a cot (provided) or even a folding bed if need be. The kitchen is very well equipped with hob, oven, microwave and washer/dryer. You have all the cutlery and kitchen utensils you could possibly want for a holiday. All the furnishing are beautifully rustic and well looked after, the colour scheme is natural tones from light to dark, very complementary. There is lots to do in the area. Fantastic walks, i.e. Castleton, don't miss out on climbing up to Mam Tor and walking the ridge to Back Tor. Visit Peveril Castle, also in Castleton. Visit the lead mines/caves in Matlock on the Heights of Abraham. there are loads more caverns to visit all around the area. Go rafting, we did it with Rapid Horizons in Matlock, great fun. Although we were a little unlucky with the weather we enjoyed ourselves very much. We hope to come back some time in the future."
